A life lived through music and brass...
John Gough has performed as a professional horn player in the U.S. and abroad. Recently serving as the Principal Horn of the Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra in China, he also performed as a guest musician with orchestras in Germany and Beijing (pursuing recording opportunities there as a freelancer). Moving back to the states he continues to work with ensembles such as the Dallas Wind Symphony, Colorado Springs Air Force Academy Band, Fort Worth Symphony, Colorado Symphony and many more.
As a repair technician, John has formal training through the CIOMIT school in Castle Rock Colorado. He spent a year working at the Houghton Custom Horns repair shop doing high level work and extensive repairs (such as bell conversions, complete rebuilds, and even returning horns to original condition after catastrophic bell damage on a regular basis). He has completed work for members of orchestras all over the U.S., including ensembles such as the Boston Symphony, Metropolitan Opera, National Symphony and Detroit Symphony, to name a few.
